When we first learned that Scott Scarsdale would be entering a plea of guilty for possession of child pornography, we also learned he would face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to a quarter of a million dollars. His sentencing, as publicly filed and reported by major news outlets, was also said to be taking place on June 6.
Well… That would have been yesterday. And there hasn’t been any news. So what happened?
Hard to say. Any number of things could have forced the deviation from the initial schedule. One thing I can say is that the Northern District of NY court system does not currently have his sentencing on their shared, public calendar.
One source indicates that Scarsdale’s family are saying the date has been pushed back into mid-August.
Those court calendars don’t go much further out than a week, but I’ll be monitoring weekly and will provide an update when I have it.
