As the heat in Upstate NY's indy wrestling scene slowly rises and the winter begins its slow thaw, the company that has quietly positioned itself as the states most successful presents another showcase from the Whitehall Athletic Club in Whitehall, NY! There are a handful of interesting questions leading into tonight's show and while I certainly don't have all the answers, I can speculate with the best of them! Lets take a look at the announced matches!
Danger vs Chuck Deep
Hell yeah. I have enjoyed this feud a great deal. The battle between Pure Dynamite and "Sex and Violence" has raged since World of Hurt Wrestling's return back in May with both sides trading wins and losses. Now with both teams broken up into singles action, there is more opportunity for intrigue. I have a feeling the heels will be über crafty here. Let me put it this way... Danger is a MONSTER. And Deep won't walk into this without a plan, or without Wesley close behind!
PAUL's PICK: Chuck Deep
Jeff Starr vs "Bad" Brad Wesley
The other half of the continuation of the tag feud storyline goes down here... While I may have predicted PD stealing a win over Danger, I don't see it happening twice and I expect them to basically split wins by the end of the night. So...
PAUL's PICK: Jeff Starr
20-Man Rumble Royale for #1 Contendership
I really, really enjoy battle royals and WOH has shown they can do it right. World of Hurt officials have been teasing a few surprises for this contest, but this is what we know: based off of some social media activity in our radar, we know that Vince Beach, Adam Badger, Fronz Roddy, and more are likely to be involved here. We know that ROH star and indy standout Vinny Marseglia will be debuting at this show and I expect him to make a run in this contest, minimally. Back in Glens Falls last year, Big Vigo won the battle royale but I'm not sure if tonight will be his night. My pick? It's expected that Eric Alden will be making his return after a but of a layoff and he is my pick.
PAUL's PICK: "Virus"/Eric Alden
Mixed Tag Match
Shane Alden and Ashley Alden vs Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis
More Alden's!!! After Ashley Alden's impromptu and unexpected return to the sport at the LAST show, it appears that she has the "bug" and is tagging up with her brother against the VERY sexy Maria and her fiancée (and accomplished wrestler in his OWN right!) Mike Bennett. Bennett has long been a favorite of mine and I am pretty pumped to see him in action. Maria is... Well... She is Maria. Enough said? This should be a fun match with Mike 'n Maria playing the heels and The Alden's the under dogs. This is tough to call. I don't think Maria competes HALF as much as she did at her "peak" in the ring so she and Ashley may just cancel each other out. It will come down to Bennett's conditioning and experience and Shane's heart and drive. I'm thinking we will have a feel-good moment here...
PAUL's PICK: The Alden's.
OTHER QUESTIONS:
- my guess is that WOH Champion, Swinger Sidusky, will be in action tonight, but against whom? I'm personally hoping they have moved Punk and Hoss out of the immediate title picture and that we get a newer, different contender. A Beach, a Vigo, or even the debuting Marseglia would prove for an interesting pairing!
- will a fan brazenly attack Kenny Casanova (if he is in attendance)? It's been FAR too long.
- will they put ice in my beer again?
These are all important questions!
Again, I am looking forward to the show, as well as their NEXT show which - as I understand it - the WrestlefudgeTV booth will be BACK in full effect, interviewing wrestlers, interviewing fans and bringing the action to fans everywhere! We can't wait! Hope to see a lot of our readers/viewers there tonight! I will be in the front row, come say hello!

787 Pro Predictions for 2/17/2013
787 Pro Wrestling returns to the Troy Boys and Girls Club in Troy, NY this Sunday, 2/17, for their second ever effort! Coming off of what was a well-received debut back in January, it appears as though this promotion is looking to accelerate on their momentum with another interesting card!
This unconventional Sunday afternoon show (bell time is 2:30pm) dubbed "ACCELERATION" boasts just four announced matches that we can chew on... So lets dive in:
5-Man Gauntlet Match:
"The Reality Show Superstar" Chris Envy vs. "The Wolf" CJ Scott vs. Coconut Jones vs. "Redneck" Randy Walker vs. "The Spectacle" Adam Badger
There has been some confusion on whether we can expect a traditional "gauntlet" or a "scramble" match... What is NOT confusing is just how fun this match looks on paper. All five of these competitors were in action at the January show and each of them offered something a little different; CJ participated in the clear MotN as well as sported some of the most unsightly facial hair that Troy has ever seen, Coconut was energetic and got the youngsters in attendance behind him, Envy brought equal parts confidence and arrogance, Randy Walker brought a wheel barrow and some hilarity, and Adam Badger brought maybe his most uninspiring performance in recent memory... I think we can expect more of the same (from guys like CJ and Envy) and hopefully a little more fire out of a young man I expect a LOT from in 2013 in Adam Badger. Hopefully this match is given a LOT of time for all five to "get their shit in".
PAUL's PICK: CJ Scott.
Cloudy vs "Too Rad" Kyle Brad
Kyle Brad is money. In nearly any given situation. Cloudy was just "ok" in my eyes, last go round... I am hopeful that these two mesh well and that this could be early MotN contender.
PAUL's PICK: Kyle Brad
Oman Tortuga vs Foxx Vinyer
Former ROH star, Tortuga, is on Foxx duty this month! I'll be honest; I am not familiar with Oman's work at ALL... But those three letters next on his résumé, "ROH", certainly lend him some credibility! Vinyer is, once again, in the make or break position. Last month, he had showed in a pretty competitive loss against new friend of the 'fudge, Bobby Fish. Despite his protests to the contrary, Vinyer seemed blown up, soaked with sweat just a few minutes into his match with Fish, drawing a "cardio" chant from the people behind us. Personally, I think Foxx Vinyer is an interesting wrestler with a lot of potential... if he is willing and able to look beyond how he views HIMSELF and embrace the way he is actually and factually perceived. I repeat: a LOT of potential... If...
PAUL's PICK: Foxx Vinyer?
MAIN EVENT
787PW Championship Match
Vik Dalishus (c) vs "The Party Peacock" Dalton Castle
I think it's safe to say that we should expect to see Rob Coleman and/or JP Black assert themselves in this match in some fashion - which is fine. What ISN'T fine is if that assertion interferes at all with Dalton Castle doing his thing! Castle definitely held the crowd in the palm of his hand last month and I think it's safe to say his antics will enthrall and amuse this Sunday as well. As for Dalishus, he is clearly being built up as a dangerous, crafty champion... I can't imagine we will see another top Champion crowned on their second show. This should be fun, however!
PAUL's PICK: Vik Dalishus.
Who else can we expect?
"The Real" Rob Coleman, "The Dark Pony" JP Black, Kyle Badger, "Buttery" Bert Williams, Joint Task Force and many more.
For some reason, I thought I had seen early on in this events promotion that the debut of Monarchy was advertised! Now I'm learning that isn't the case. Am I nuts? Possibly. What is CERTAIN is that William King and ZPB will NOT be there and I am BUMMED about it! In any case, this should be another fun show. Definitely check these guys out. This is not some flash in the pan local wrestling operation, these guys have shown an early commitment to making this promotion work.
It's an exciting time to be an indy wrestling fan in Upstate NY!

W'fudgeTV from 2/8/13 and the ULTIMATE 25
Last nights episode of WrestlefudgeTV LIVE was important to us for a handful of reasons. We were coming off of 2 weeks off and had booked a show with zero guests, something we haven't done in more than 6 months. We were unveiling the ULTIMATE 25, an ambitious top 25 ranking chart of the best independent wrestlers on our radar. This was NOT a simple process, to say the least, and the placement, inclusion, and exclusion of talent was debated up until show time at 7PM. We also debuted our program on Ustream.tv, a service that - unlike Justin.TV - does not have a completely irrational bias and fear of professional wrestling. Along with our first foray onto a new platform, we also debuted totally new audio/videosoftware. Cameras, transitions, and graphics have never looked crisper or clearee. However... It was a pretty stressful 36 hours heading into show time and I'd like to, once again, publicly thank Will for his hours and hours of hastily put-together pre-production work. Other than an easily addressed encoding issue, the show went off great.
Speaking of which... Here it is...
