Calling All Promoters!

Dear Wrestling Promoters,
Want some free plugs? Want some love? Want us to tickle your ass with a feather? We want to plug you, love you, tickle you AND MORE! Email us at Paul@Wrestlefudge.com and give us all the gory details:

- when is your event?
- where is your event?
- how can fans follow your promotion?
- all of that fun stuff!

If you do your part, keep us in the loop, and aren't total dicks, we will do OUR part and spread the word! After all... Isn't that what it's all about?

Season 2 Premieres 1/11/13

They tried to shut us down.

They hoped we'd go away.

However, much like the independent wrestling that we cover... Our movement can't be stopped.

Earlier this month, Justin.tv -- the web service we currently use to broadcast our weekly Internet TV show -- shut us down and informed us we can't air any actual wrestling matches. Suddenly.

We have grudgingly agreed to honor their Community Guidelines, as silly and one-sided as they may in fact be. That being said, and to reiterate a point made in an earlier post, we will not go quietly into that good night. While we know that we are going to have to use jTV for the immediate future, the budget for 2013 is under review and we are looking into other options as well as looking forward to what the New Year will bring!

You read that right above. Season 2 of WrestlefudgeTV LIVE kicks off 1/11/13 and we have 24 episodes on the slate, with over 100 hours of planned content including 10, count 'em, 10 live remotes from indie wrestling shows, conventions, etc in the proposed budget. Judging by what we were able to accomplish on less than a weeks notice back at November's WOHW Whitehall show, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback on that presentation that we have received, we are understandably excited about these prospects!

I'd like to thank everyone, once again, for their support and on behalf of 68 Caroline Productions and my broadcast colleague, Will Cena, I have to say that we can't WAIT to help bring you all of the news, opinion, recaps and reviews of all our local indie wrestling companies in the new year! Happy holidays everyone!

And stay tuned! More news on January 11's Season Premiere in the coming weeks!

---------
COMING SOON on Wrestlefudge.com:
- more on the 2012 Fudgy Awards!
- updates on 787 Pro Wrestling's debut... News on WOHW's next event... The big IYFW-run convention coming in March... Fallout from CTWE's latest holiday-themed event...
- and MORE!

State of the 'Fudge: #EverythingsFine

December 7, 2012... A day that will live in infamy.

Ok. Maybe we are exaggerating a little. Yet, undoubtedly, our way of doing business - our way of LIFE - was completely disrupted and thrown into total disarray less than 20 minutes before we were scheduled to go live on this very website Friday night. It has been brought to our attention that someone took it upon themselves to report us to Justin.tv admins. Those same admins felt as though we were in violation of their terms of service and community guidelines and they quickly BANNED us from using their service. Although they have no qualms with allowing their users to broadcast streaming video games (including graphic first person shooters such as "Dishonored" or "FarCry 3"), it seems as though professional wrestling is too violent for their delicate sensibilities and is outright banned from broadcast - no matter how violent it may or may not be.

First... The good news. We have been in contact with jTV's Lead Administrator and have come to an agreement wherein our IP ban would be lifted if we agree to follow these questionable terms of service and use. So, hey... If they stick to their word, we will be back on justin.tv soon! That's the good news!

The bad news is that the content of our programming is being dictated to us by a nebulous outside force. We don't like that. No more wrestling matches on our show. Which makes us VERY angry. We pride ourselves on spreading the joy of Indy wrestling across the Internet -- we KNOW that our airing of matches from promotions such as CTWE, WrestleJam, WOHW, IYFW on our shows have improved their profile and created new fans. We know this because we have talked to fans who have learned of these promotions, these wrestlers, this business, from our show. So we are saddened to say that FOR NOW... We will not be airing any wrestling action on any future editions of WrestlefudgeTV LIVE. FOR NOW. For now, we will have to simply post links to quality indie wrestling matches on our FB and this here blog.

Back to the good news... The events and fallout of the past 24 hours has forced Will and I, along with the generous people at 68 Caroline Productions, to review our options, look outward for more advantageous opportunities to do WHAT we want to do HOW we want to do it. We have discovered new, different broadcast technology. We are becoming familiar with, and are feeling out, more impressive live streaming possibilities. While we were absolutely angry and beside ourselves with rage last night when some goon tried to silence us, to pull our plug... We find ourselves renewed and rejuvenated.

This is not the end of WrestlefudgeTV LIVE. This is simply a new beginning.

That being said... We know who tipped the "authorities" off to us and the day will come when the truth will be known. It will be on our terms. They won't like the outcome.

I'd like to thank everyone who emailed us, texted us, messages us, facebooked, tweeted us, etc, with their concern and support. It honestly meant a lot. Your support means everything.

Before all of this went down, Will and I had intended on taking several weeks off - a hiatus to allow us to spend some much needed quality time with friends and family during the holidays, work on upcoming Fudgy Awards content, etc. We intends on still taking that hiatus. Stay tuned and look for us to return around the New Year.

Finally, I'd like to publically apologize to Dalton Castle, Pierre Vachon, and Matty McDervish for last nights debacle. We hate stiffing our guests almost as much as we hate stiffing our viewers and supporters. Thank you for understanding. It was so painfully out of our control.

The day WILL come when the "control" is ALL ours.

Thank you.
Paul

Quick Hits for 12/4/12

-- holy shit, In Your Face Wrestling is for real with this "Memories, Moments, and Mayhem" convention they are putting on March 16th in Ballston Spa, NY. They just announced TOMMY DREAMER and AL SNOW. Pretty awesome. I imagine Will and I will get to speculating on just WHO they might face at the show that evening. Which IYFW talent will get the rub? Interesting question. And holier shit! Maxx Burton is stepping down as IYFW Authority Figure?!? I never thought I'd be sad to type that. Maxx is fun in this role. I am personally bummed. Is it possible?!? Do I suddenly... TRUST you, Maxx Burton?!? You fiend. Apparently, the new "boss" will be revealed at their January show. My vote is for Tino. What? There's no (official) vote? Let your voice be heard in our Facebook poll!

-- 787 Pro Wrestling is still set to debut January 13th, despite some confusion regarding pseudo-cancelled Facebook "events" on the ole social media that had some people scratching their heads. But guess what... Their advertised card has changed! It has also leaked and we have it. Check it out:

- they are still planning on a 30-man battle royale, winner faces Giant Pharoah. Presumably for the 787 Championship.
- Viper the American Ninja and Este Tipo vs The Joint Task Force: Sgt.Fury and Corporal Saint
- "Royalty" William King will take on Eric Alden
- Chris Envy vs. "Buttery" Bert Williams
- Vince Beach vs. JP Black
- Foxx Vinyer vs. Coconut Jones
- The Purists vs. Adam Badger and Shiloh
- CJ Scott against "The Party Peacock" Dalton Castle
- battle royale winner vs Pharoah
- and probably one other match

Guess what? Card subject to change. This is just what we received quite anonymously. Looks to be a really interesting show worth checking out!

I will offer this promotion the same advice I give every new federation... Whatever you do... please guys... Don't put the belt on the booker on the first show. Yeah. I said it. I get worried. Nothing but love.

-- this Friday night starting at 7pm on Wrestlefudge.com it's WrestlefudgeTV LIVE - back home in Studio 68 - our guests this week will explode your brain. Remember a few weeks ago when we unexpectedly cancelled our show and you were all real sad? We want to give those scheduled guests their god damned due and such! That's right... This Friday we will ask IYFW Heavyweight Champion PIERRE "The Beast" VACHON how it feels to prove EVERY critic wrong and still maintain a stranglehold at the top of In Your Face Wrestling... We will finally hear from the tippy-top of new promotion, Sensory Overload Lucha-libre, and we expect that to be COMPLETELY ridiculous! More guest announcements to come! (Note: we wanted to get "Royalty" William King on our show, but he has a prior engagement! We hope to have him on soon and really look forward to hearing from him!)

-- did you miss World of Hurt last Friday? Do you want to see it from the ONLY bad seat* in the house with some fun commentary? Did you also miss our 5-hour coverage of the event? Be sure to check it out and scratch BOTH of those aforementioned itches. We talked to fans as well as Pure Dynamite, Michael Anthony, 2Rad Kyle Brad, Jim Tanner, Danger and Jeff Starr, JP Black, Adam Badger, Fronz Roddy, The Joint Task Force, Shiloh, Swinger Sidusky, Famed Photographer Gary Braham, the lovely Reby Sky and probably MANY MORE! What a great night! We have been told that we are more than welcome at the NEXT WOHW show so STAY TUNED! We can't wait!

-- our thoughts are with friend of the 'fudge, Jay Simola, host of "Passing the Torch Radio" on blogtalkradio, who is dealing with some health issues right now. Get well soon, Jay!

(*there is no bad seat at the Whitehall Armory. It just doesn't translate well to our weak camera. Be sure to look for the ippv when it is released!)

Blogger sucks, full 11/30 episode linked within!

Don't ask why (or "how", because I have no clue) but blogger doesn't want you guys to see anything more than the last two minutes of the show. Took almost an hour to hand crank that HTML and it is still rejecting it and replicating the same file 11 times.

For now go HERE to scope all the right pieces in one place.

So irritating. Hoping to have this issue resolved within the coming days. If not, F you, blogspot.

WOHW Coverage - Full 5 Hr Episode from 11/30/12

Wow. What a fun, wild night! If you missed World of Hurt in Whitehall last night... then you did, indeed, miss out. A fun show that truly had something for everyone, for every kind of wrestling fan. We broadcasted for over 5 hours straight last night and what a ride it was! We would like to thank each fan that took a moment to sit with us and share their perspective on the show as well as the countless wrestlers that sat in with us, talked a gang of shit, backed it up (or didn't) in the ring, then came BACK and sat with us to let off more steam. It was a very fun night. We would also like to especially thank Shane Alden and the Whitehall Athletic Club for being so gracious with us. We had a blast, hope those that participated enjoyed it, and that you watching also got an occassional kick out of it.

Disclaimer: as the actual wrestling event begins, we were granted permission to point our camera toward the ring and perform our own brand of sub-par play by play. Understand that this video does NOT do the product any justice. This is an event to check out when it becomes available as an iPPV (which I understand to be the plan).

Pre-show begins in part one. A lot of fun interviews to be had. The event begins around the start of part five. Intermission towards the end of six. Post show starts around part 10, with a lot of solid drop in guests sprinkled here and there. Thanks again to EVERYONE who dropped by. Even Foxx Vinyer.
