1.) Drake Evans (3)
That's right. I am ranking the number one contender above the reigning champion. Why? Because I'm one controversial bastard, for starters. In addition to that, this decision underwent a fair amount of review and revision by my crack staff of professional wrestling journalists, but at the end of the day it comes down to two things; heart and momentum. Drake Evans has them both in spades. Coming out of The Brass Ring with a victory in that wacky tag team contention bout deserves a higher ranking by default. Also, those who point to Vachon's size as an advantage of his need consider Evans' last singles victory over the mammoth Superbeast. Yeah. I have more to say regarding Drake's championship aspirations and will do so as the next event approaches (let's just get it ANNOUNCED first, eh? Don't rush me.)
2.) Pierre Vachon - IYFW Champion (1)
Oh, I still love ya, Beastie. You know I can't quit you. It's just... Evans has a lot going for him these days. Looking back at the year in IYFW and really, it's been about Drake Evan's quest to get back the belt he, himself, never lost. Vachon may be "the man" in this promotion, yet Evans seems poised to dethrone him. That's right: I SAID it.
3.) Vigo (2)
The big man, former IYFW Champ had a strong showing in the aforementioned tag bout and worked his ass off. I have to admit that I was shocked that he wasn't awarded a rematch against Vachon, seeing as how it was billed as the "Grudge Match of the Year", but still... Something tells me he won't be far from the top of the card (or the top title scene, as it were) for all that long.
4.) Fronz Roddy - IYFW New Breed Champion (4)
It would have been easy for a performer even as prolific as The Mighty One to have become lost in the mix of this months 3-on-3 Elimination Match of Survival. But he didn't. The New Breed Champ was eliminated via count out while taking it to "Loverboy" Ricky Williams. His next opponent appears to be young up and comer, Shiloh Robinson. Can he hang on to his newfound gold? For now, he's held onto his Number Four slot... and that's all that matters.
5.) Roman Dominguez (5)
The Dean of Face Kicking University ate a brutal Tiger Driver and the fateful pinfall at this months show and, it can be argued (but don't you dare argue with me), that he put on the star performance of that tag match. When he wasn't removing the facial features of those who opposed him via the swift motion of his lower extremities, he was bumping and selling like a fool and made everyone in the ring with him look just that much better. Hoping he hangs around the title scene.
6.) Jamar Justice (--)
Yup. Number 6. If you saw that grueling 3-on-3 match at "The Brass Ring" then you know that whomEVER survived the nearly twenty-five minute contest deserves a quality spot on this lineup. Seeing that he did just that, in his first match back from injury, and you HAVE to respect his placement in this ranking. Also; given his career-long rivalry with Adam Badger... I couldn't pass up piling on a little.
7.) Adam Badger - IYFW Tag Team Champion (6)
One of the most physically dominating performers on the roster, Badger continues to impress, despite going out of his way to eliminate himself in the name of crippling his sworn nemesis. He drops a rank this month simply because he allowed his hatred to outweigh his drive to be the best. He and Michael Monroe had the Uprising where they wanted them... Close to elimination. Yet, he let it slip away. Let's see how he and his partner bounce back.
8.) Ian Daniels (7)
He chose The Single Greatest Possible Tag Team Partner... possible... In his quest for revenge against the dreaded Savage Wolves. That right there gets him a spot in the top ten, am I right? Naturally. He picked up a DQ win along with The Rockett and is a house favorite in the Ballston Area Community Center, for sure. Is he satisfied with a DQ win over CJ and Damon? I doubt it.
9.) Liam McFerrin (8)
Big Irish has been on a quiet tear on the IYFW undercard; racking up a fairly impressive strong of single and tag victories over the likes of Scott Scarsdale, WAR, and - how can this be? - Fronz Roddy. Can't be ignored and has to be respected.
10.) Scott Scarsdale (--)
The Money Man hit the proverbial (as well as the factual and actual) Jackpot at "The Brass Ring", earning a victory over former IYFW Tag Champ, "Bombshell" Bert Williams in his first match in over two years. Scarsdale hasn't had much luck in the ring, until now, since his run at the top of the card vying for the IYFW Championship across the ring from Vigo last Summer. Could this be the start of another streak, paid for by the Millennium Foundation?
